As a reminder, I also worked for Hospice and was sitting in my weekly team meeting a few weeks ago. One of the Certified Nurses Aids was talking to a co-worker about how difficult life is, complaining about many different things, with sadness in her face and eyes.
She looked across the table at me and said, to everyone listening, “We can’t all be like Annalee, not a care in the world, always smiling, happy and positive, just nothing to have to worry about!” I looked her in the eye and thanked her for thinking I didn’t have a care/worry in the world and corrected her.
I explained, in some detail the many VERY DIFFICULT things I deal with every day of my life, but that I choose not allow them to run my life. I told the people listening that I live my life with a positive attitude and go by this statement I created for myself and teach others, “I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TAKE CONTROL OF ME, I WILL TAKE CONTROL OF IT!!! So, take control of you and move your way forward…. You can do it!!! 😉
How does this apply to these times?
Stress during an infectious disease outbreak can sometimes cause the following:
